Variegated Devil’s Backbone Zig Zag Plant Pedilanthus tithymaloides Pedilanthus tithymaloides varagata is also known as Devils Backbone or Zig Zag, False Bird, Red Bird cactus plant is grown here in South Florida. No pesticides applied. You will receive a rooted plant with 4 stems with mature flowering leaves.  A wonderful houseplant that will not disappoint you. These plants do well in a hanging basket as well as a ground cover. They will climb up a wall also. They do not need full sun. People also place the pots in trees and on walls and let the plants cascade. They all feature a pink and reddish tip when fully grown and “blooming.” The plant is very odd and catches everyone’s eye. They grow big so get ready, these “Shrubs” can get 7ft across and 3 ft high. For USDA Zones 9-11 they can stay outside all year. Many people use them in landscaping as we do.
